Can my HOA prevent me from installing video cameras (such as Ring cameras)?

As long as any cameras are installed on your private property and do not cause any privacy concerns (e.g., are pointed away from neighbors' windows), your HOA cannot legally prevent installation. Your HOA likely can, however, require you to submit an architectural design request to have it on record, so make sure to read your HOA's governing documents, including CC&Rs and any architectural guidelines, to ensure compliance. If you follow those rules and your HOA still tries to deny your cameras, you may be able to fight it.
